Look in your Drawers

Absolutely anything could be inside your kitchen drawers, I had a good look inside mine this morning. For 10 seconds.

That was quite enough, thank you very much.

I can live with the mothballs and the old cat collars, but it’s the safety pins that concern me.

I have a theory about the safety pins but I’m jumpy about revealing it in case anyone may think I’m slipping into early-onset dementia.

My theory is that safety pins breed in my drawers. Believe me, this actually happens. The common or garden safety pin is the larval stage of the coat hanger!

For years I wondered why I would have a drawer full of safety pins and nothing to hang my cardigans on, then, seemingly overnight, the safety pins would disappear and my wardrobe would be full of coat hangers.

Check it for yourself. Have a look in your own drawers.

Hmmmm… I don’t have safety pins in my drawers or anywhere for that matter but I do have quite a few coat hangers. I’d actually rather have the safety pins. Do you think the coat hangers are doing hanky panky in the closet? If so, maybe I will have some baby pins soon.

By the way, did you know your comment note above is in Spanish?

OMG! Thanks for alerting me to the hitherto unknown wealth to be found in my wardrobe. “In two weeks the price per hanger went from 4 cents to 10 cents. That a 150% increase” I’m rich! Rich beyond dreams of avarice.

You noticed the comment note is in Spanish? The dashboard inside is too. The theme is by a gentleman with the beautiful name of José María Morales Vázquez, of Un lugar en el mundo, a place in the world… http://blog.unlugarenelmundo.es/

My knowledge of his language is confined to schoolgirl Latin which allows me to make some sort of sense of blocks of text in Italian and Spanish. A very small amount of sense.

Well spam is spelled the same in most languages. I took latin and french in high school but I’ve forgotten most of it.

Were you taught by the Nuns too? That’s what I learned, I think we must be a dying breed :)
In any case I figured that everyone will know how to make a comment. (And besides, I can’t change it into English)

hi! thanks for the comment. yes, i’ll be looking for more sensible forums. =)
